Dissatisfied Customer

I contacted Directv customer service to order a replacement Receiver due to one of the five we have was not working. They were fine with replacing it but wanted me to pay $20 to have it shipped which I thought was unfair. I pleaded my displeasure to the rep but it didn’t matter. I ended up canceling my subscription for the receiver and was told my bill would be reduced by $7 per month. In my opinion, this type treatment of a loyal customer of over a decade shows directv does not value my business.I will be finding another provider very soon!

Read the TOS, you pay for shipping unless you sign up for the protection plan.

I guess you don’t remember the pre-lease days when if your receiver needed replacing, you had to pay full price for the replacement. The $20 is for shipping, by the way.

Delivery of replacement box is $19.95, service calls are $99, remotes are $15. If you have the optional Equipment Protection Plan, then all 3 costs are covered.

So the box is covered by warranty, we just pay delivery. Your being a customer for over 10 years doesn't make you immune from the charges we all pay.

Yes each additional TV on the service is $7, regardless if you have a box for it or not (i.e. RVU Client TV). So deactivating one TV removed one of those charges. Don't know what else you were expecting.

As a company they do value your business. You are just not special, but treated equally as the rest of us customers.
