DIRECTV Price Increase – What’s the Deal?
If you are here, you are probably wondering why your bill increased and if it had something to do with AT&T moving your DIRECTV account to the AT&T Experience. It does seem a little fishy since it happened around the same time. Not to mention, there were some recent emails that were sent out regarding the price increase. I am here to let you know that the move to the myAT&T Experience was not the cause.
Why Did My Bill Go Up?
As with most providers, AT&T had to raise the monthly prices for select packages because our programming costs went up starting January 20, 2019. Our customers were notified via email and a message was posted on the news section of your December 2018 bill.
Heads up: If you currently have a DIRECTV® or U-verse® TV promotion, you'll keep that discount until it expires. Once your promotional period ends, you’ll pay the new price for your package. If you change your base package, you may not be eligible for the promotional offer anymore.
Other Reasons Why Your Bill May Have Increased
- Promotions Expired – Check your previous bills compared to your latest bill. You may see a promotion, that was there previously, is no longer available. You can check for other offers by signing into your account at www.att.com.
- Package Change – If you changed your packaged or upgraded your service. This may increase your bill. In some instances, the first bill you receive after upgrading may be higher than normal as your bill is prorated for the month service was added. To make it easier to view, The new AT&T bill shows the changes.
