Garage door opener

I need to know which brand of garage door opener is compatible with the ATT digital life? I call tech support all I get is that you can't use the Genie, lift master and Chamberlin. I don't know of many more garage door makers. All I need is a brand and make that ATT knows works with this system.

Our technician that just came out and installed our garage controller told us that ours wouldn't work either. He went ahead and installed everything and charged us for the part but it's just sitting there not doing us any good. Is there a way for us to have it rechecked? The garage control was one reason that we liked the system as well but that part is useless to us

@bbprncss There are some garage door openers that are not compatible with the Digital Life garage door controller. Do you know the make and model of your garage door opener?

It is a Quantum 3214.

We are willing to replace the garage door opener if we need to but we would need to make sure that whatever we buy is compatible with the system. There's no point in spending the money to replace it if we get one that still won't work.

@bbprncss I would recommend a simple garage door opener. A smart garage door opener will not be compatible with our Garage door controller.

its Dec 2017 now, has this issue been resolved? I just got a new LiftMaster garage door with My Q and the wires were all re connected but the garage door doesn't respond. The My Q app is working fine and opens and closes the door via the APP.

No. I am just thinking now to buy it from AT&T and have them install.

@CaseyClements hey there, I should have added as long as it is a 2 wire versus 3 wire , and not the My Q , will be good to go!

I have a genie.  It worked while the installer was here but now it won’t do anything through the app.  It works great with the button on the wall and the garage door remote in my car.   Any suggestions as to how I can make it work again

@Bakerrange  Contact customer support - if it doesn’t work on your app or through the Web Portal then it is probably defective and repair/replacement is most likely covered under you monthly service cost.

Okay, I keep reading that the MyQ is not compatible.  Basically, the smart switch on the wall, sends a wireless signal to the garage door opener vs a low voltage signal from the wired openers.  The system is designed to send the same signal that the wall switch sends through the wire.  But when it the switch is wireless, that device becomes a moot issue.  And since the Liftmaster system is a different language than the Digital Life, it can't send the wireless signal to the motor.  Yet I can teach my garage door opener in the visor in my truck the signal and can't do the same on a Digital Life controlled device?  How is that possible?

@cheddarthief  Hello. Due to the garage door controllers being tied in with home security, there is no driver code or software for the MyQ and a small list of compatible devices for them.

I understand your position. However, if I were to buy a new remote for my
system, I can teach it the system code. Same with the garage door opener
built into my trucks visor. Why not have a device that mechanically
activates a wireless device that can accept the low voltage signal and
convert that to a mechanics movement?
