Wifi Calling enabled but not working on Note 4

Hello.  I've gone through the steps on activating Wifi calling on my Note 4.  I've seen instructions on how to reset the cache in the Application Manager settings, but I do not see the app.  I see Phone, but not WiFi calling app.  I have already reset my phone a number of times but still unable to call out.  Please advise.

Hello @pablorpm!

I completely understand wanting to be able to set up Wi-Fi calling. It’s such a great feature to be able to use. I would be more than happy to assist in helping to set up this feature for you!

After looking into this further for you, I do see in order for the Note 4 to be able to use Wi-Fi calling it does need to have the most recent update available. In order to download this, you will want to go to Settings > General Tab > About Device > Software updates > Check for updates > Ok. If there are any updates available, please download them. You will want to be on the latest version which 6.0.1 and was release January 12, 2017.

After the above step is complete or you already on the latest version, we will want to try to set up Wi-Fi calling. This is a setting which is set up within the device and is not used as an app. In order to set it up, you will want to go to Settings > Connections Tab > Wi-Fi Calling > Get Started > Continue > Tap Continue again > Set up Emergency 911 Address > Verify Address > Use this address > Ok > Done.

Once the above is complete, you can access Wi-Fi Calling through the quick settings, swipe down from the top of the homescreen, then tap Wi-Fi Calling. We also have our handy Device Support page which can walk you through this. When you arrive on page, please select your device’s make and model, then click Tutorials > Calling > Wi-Fi Calling.

I hope this helps! If you have anything else you would like assistance on, we are happy to help! Have a great rest of your day.

I been using wifi calling on my Note 4 phone for a while now and for some reason the last two weeks I have many failed text messages and calls. my phone Note 4 says provisioning failed provisioning failed. I have to put my phone into airplane mode and then out of airplane mode for it to send a text and then it'll have to do it again the 4 next text I try to send. my husband sat right next to me and called my phone and it rang on his end just like everything was normal but my phone wasn't doing anything. I was really liking the whole wifi-calling thing until now it seems to be. Why? my phone has the latest update.

@Turnerland6713 Try flushing the whole cache on your phone, rather than per-app, AFTER MAKING SURE YOU HAVE A CURRENT BACKUP.

WiFi calling is heavily dependent on DNS being accurate and such, and clearing out all the old network data will help a lot (sometimes stale entries can hose this).

Alternately, you could try resetting just your network settings, which should flush these same caches, it's easier, if you want to test that first.
