Why am I not getting my voicemails until days later?

My mom called me because she was having a medical emergency! I wasn't able to answer my phone at the time and so she left a voicemail. I never received a voicemail.

She called me three days later and told me she just got out of the hospital and she was OK now. She told me she left a voicemail for me and was surprised that I didn't call her back. But I never received her voicemail! I thought maybe she incorrectly thought she left a voicemail because she was in such a desperate state of mind. But NO! It's been two days since I talked to my mom and I just now received her voicemail that she left me when she was desperately trying to reach me!

This is extremely upsetting! It could have very well been devastating that I didn't receive this critical voicemail when she needed me!

Hi @eveysweeney

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are so terribly sorry to hear about this situation. We understand how vitally important it is that your loved ones are able to reach out and we want to get to the bottom of this for you.

We'll need a few more details in order to proceed:
  • What kind of phone do you have? Is the software up to date?
  • What zip code are you located in?
  • Have you ever had any issues with receiving voicemail in a timely manner, prior to now?
  • Are you having any issues with making or receiving phone calls?
With this information, we'll have a better idea of what could possibly be going on. Again, we are very sorry that this happened, but we do look forward to working you to get it resolved.

Thank you.

I have a Note 10+.

Yes, it is updated to the latest version.

My zipcode is 80909.

I'm not sure if I haven't been getting my voicemails on time before now.

Yes, I have had several issues with making and receiving calls lately.

A week or so ago I tried to call my Grandmother on her landline and I kept getting a busy signal for several hours. I couldn't reach her until the next day. She told me she wasn't using her phone and it was on the hook correctly.

Additionally, My Mom said she tried to call me while in the hospital from a different phone but she kept getting a busy signal while my phone shouldn't have been giving a busy signal.

I'm sure you understand but it's a bit frustrating.

Thank you for your reply.

All best,

Evey

Hi @eveysweeney,

Thank you for providing us with this information!

After checking your area, it is in good standing. So that isn't the issue. We'd like to know more about these issues occurring with your device. You said you received a busy signal when attempting to call your Grandmother; does this happen with other contacts? Is your voicemail properly set up? If so, are you able to access your voicemail to see if you currently have any present?

Lastly, have you reset your network settings? You can do this by: Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings. After doing this, see if you are able to receive calls/voicemails.

Thank you!
