Voicemail problems, latest one notifications not alerting me to voicemails

4 calls to AT&T  Have been reset voicemail after message: "Someone has already entered your mailbox with that password. Please try again later"

Resets not helping the problem.

Last agent cut me off after long hold.

Previous one removed visual voicemail - I'll be abroad in a couple days - but the regular voicemail feature is still not working - no notifications when messages are left.

Please help

Have a Passport plan starting tomorrow and will be traveling, need my phone!

Hi @AJ94939!

I can totally understand how upsetting this can be and how stressful, especially with your traveling out of the US! I definitely apologize for the troubles with the voicemail account on the phone!

What type of phone are you using, Android or iPhone? Has anything else changed on the account or the phone itself before this began occurring?

If you’re using an iPhone, at times, the date and time can become out of sync and cause the voicemail messages to delay and stop any notification from coming in. To update, you will want to follow the steps below and test after each step:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS.
  2. Turn on Set Automatically in Settings > General > Date & Time. This will automatically set your date and time based on your time zone.
  3. Make sure that your time zone is set correctly. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone.

It is sounding as though the account has been provisioned with the reset of the voicemail. Are you able to go through the initial setup when troubleshooting was done with the agents?

To further troubleshoot, I can recommend the AT&T Troubleshoot & Resolve tool. From here, you can select the Voicemail tutorial and go through the steps. On the webpage, you might need to change the make and model of the phone in the upper left before getting started.

Let me know if this fixes up the voicemail notification issue you are having! Take care and safe travels!

What does that message mean? Why does it say someone has already eantered with that password?

If you’re having this problem and got here from a google search, try this, it worked for me and I scoured the web to find it so I’m putting it here for posterity.

Long Press the number 1 to dial into voicemail

When prompted enter a WRONG password

the moment the voicemail informs you the password is incorrect

enter your CORRECT password

This should give you access as it’s worked for me for about the past week
