Visual Voicemail

Why does ATT continue to run customers in circles trying to set up Visual Voicemail? One thing that should be very clear. The Samsung S22 Ultra IS capable of visual voicemail. It is AT&T that does not support it on the S22U. They insinuate it is a problem with the phone, it is not.

I spent hours going in circles with your tech people and the last one finally confessed that it is an issue that AT&T does not want to address. This was back when the S22U was newly introduced. It looks like the same issue still exists, if I am wrong, show me and I will retract my statement happily!

In the interim, you continue to lie to customers, insinuating it is the phone that is not capable. You are wrong, a coworker on a different network uses his with no issue.

AT&T, fix the problem!

i have been forced by my company to move to AT&T. Regressions everwhere. when is this going to be addressed?

Visual voicemail works just fine, what does not work is transcription. Transcription has been removed as a device feature from Samsung carrier models (that's the U model, which is the US carrier unlocked Universal model)

If you would like transcription as well as reliable Visual Voicemail get yourself a free Google Voice number and use conditional call forwarding.

I have two different cell phones, it's a pain in the neck to carry them both all the time. I use conditional call forwarding for both to my Google Voice number.  It's extremely reliable and the transcription is very good. (AT&T's transcription is not.)

Thank you. The forwarding to Google Voice may not be a viable option according to my companies policies. I was with another phone provider before and had a S10+ U model. So the question is, whether this is an S22 and Samsung issue or a limitation with AT&T?

The forwarding to Google Voice may not be a viable option according to my companies policies.

Conditional call forward to a secondary number is how At&t VM works now.

The Visual Voicemail app is installed, but it only replays voice mail audio. No transcription

mine was working after hours on the phone with AT&T now in the last week it is broken compelty and gives a Verison helpdesk 800 number out on the failure (I am an AT&T customer for about 15 years)  But maybe not for long.....this is stupid.  a very basic and mandatory feature, I don;t want to be dialing a nj voicemail number and typing in passwords while driving or etc.  simply stupid. and self created by AT&T problem with this one model phone.

I like yourself and furious with AT&T yesterday they wasted from 11:22 a.m. to 2:29 p.m. running me around in circles making me repeat the same processes over and over again transferring me to one person or another and this person's really going to be able to help you for sure because they're a specialist and this person made me do everything the last person made me do and I said to them look I don't want to waste any more time if you guys can't make it work just tell me because this is ours now I've been doing this and even still they said to me it's because it's an unlocked phone and not an AT&T phone and I said I tried to buy a phone from AT&T you didn't have the options I wanted you weren't willing to order me a phone with the options I wanted from Samsung so I returned the phone that I didn't like that I tried to buy new from AT&T and I unlocked my phone from Xfinity who I miss desperately because every feature Works beautifully on my phone when I had them and they're telling me that my features won't work because it's an unlocked phone and I'm telling them that ever since their SIM card got put in my phone visual voicemail is not allowed access to my call logs which it needs in order to be able to work and no matter how many times I try to give it access access which is should be up to me whether or not an app should be able to have permission for they have taken away my right to choose what apps get what permission from me and they're holding my phone hostage taking away features making my very expensive s20 Plus feel like a Bare Bones b******* model of crap how dare they not tell people that the problem is on their end not just admit that there is something wrong with their company that they don't allow you to use this feature from Samsung it's not like it's an app from another carrier it is from the maker of the phone so for them not to work with it and make something happen to take care of us Samsung loving customers is disgusting and for them not to have options for Samsung loving customers to buy phones that they like and to try to push Apple and Google phones on everybody is disgusting as well since when is the customer not right since when does the customer not deserve to get what they want since when does a company as big and old as AT&T not have the ability to take good care of their customers and offer them options when they like Samsung over iPhones and Google it's disgusting now I switched from another company to get the new phone upgrade benefits discount or whatever and now I'm just a regular old customer who cannot get a benefit who switched from another carrier that gave them great service and let them use all the features on their phone Xfinity Mobile by the way they are awesome I switched for nothing my phone bill's a little lower because I'm on somebody else's plan but I lost half the feature in my phone everything I liked about it and now I'm forced to use their ridiculous Antiquated voicemail where you press and hold one and have to listen to All of the prompts and all of the voicemail and you can't just look at it delete it and be done with it or you can't archive it and save it say it's a message from a family member who's older and they may be gone one day and you want to save their voicemail so you can hear their voice when you know they're going to be gone one day and now you can't do that because AT&T took it away from you not only did they take that away they deleted three years worth of blocked calls so every spam fraud call can call me again now and their little feature to protect me says it can't work and there's an error and it doesn't know why and I've uninstalled and reinstalled it and I'm not going to waste my time calling them for help because they couldn't help me with their voicemail app so I hate AT&T I am definitely going to change carriers as soon as I get my next phone direct from the factory at Samsung unlocked for 24 month payment instead of 36 and I'll take it anywhere I want that actually works with Samsung well enough to provide me with the features I'm accustomed to and I paid for can you tell him a little angry cuz I am really angry they wasted hours of my time and they took away my features on a phone I paid a lot of money for then they told me it was my fault because it's an unlocked phone and if I had bought an AT&T phone it would be working which makes it a bold face lie these people should be fined for lying to customers there should be some recourse for companies who do not actually provide the service they so dishonestly tell you they can provide. Screw AT&T Xfinity mobile 10 times better it may take you a long time to get a person but they actually know how to help you when you get one! I won't be staying with AT&T much longer oh and by the way when I called them to get help with this entire thing the woman put me on hold and disconnected my service completely so that my friend had to go on the app and reactivate my service that shouldn't have been deactivated in the first place that's how smart they are that started off my millions of hours wasted with AT&T and that was yesterday and I'm still angry today because now their apps aren't even working and it is what it is AT&T does not have the best service it doesn't matter what kind of coverage they think they offer I never lost my service for a second with Xfinity mobile the only thing AT&T does right is lets you get a person quickly but they let you get a person quickly who is an educated on how to help you with anything and they I don't know shut down your service or are they waste hours telling you it's your fault your phone because it's not from them that it can't work so yeah I'm not a fan of AT&T and I think everybody should protest until something changes for the Samsung lovers of the world

And to the guy at the bottom who post about how AT&T is visual voicemail works now and how great it is or whatever I can't post the screenshots I just took but I have an s20 Plus and it's not compatible with my phone number one which is why it didn't come up on a search until I click the guy's link and number two it is 3.5 stars and hardly any of those are five star reviews with one star review stating that it doesn't tell you you have a voicemail unless you refresh the app so AT&T's want to be version of visual voicemail sorry guys you don't got it let the professionals like Samsung do the real work and find a way to let their product do its job instead of stopping it because someone in your tech department knows exactly what you're doing to refuse other apps permission to the call log and you're just not doing a (Edited per community guidelines) thing about it stop making excuses AT&T get up and do your job take care of your customers not just the iPhone Google phone lovers Samsung lovers are very loyal customers and we'll leave you before we'll leave Samsung and that's a fact so you should get on board with helping us or just kiss us goodbye because you sure as (Edited per community guidelines) don't deserve us as customers

Just to clarify the information that's in my first post. Samsung has not offered voicemail transcription on phones in several years. I know I had it on my earlier Samsung models like my S7 and S8. It is not available on current Samsung phones.  The universal unlocked or carrier models. 

It is a paid feature from Verizon because it is provided by the service provider.

Visual voicemail with transcription is a built-in feature on iPhones and pixel phones it is not a built-in feature on Samsung phones anymore. It does not matter whether you buy an AT&T branded, a Verizon branded, or an unlocked phone. It is not a Samsung feature anymore.

I used you mail for several months and then switched to using a Google Voice number. The Google Voice number is turned out to be much more convenient because I can forward calls from more than one phone to one Google Voice number and it also receives text messages.

The only thing you can fault AT&T for is not knowing this information and being able to impart it to you.
