Visual voicemail not working

For a period covering the last 6 months, I've periodically experienced issues with visual voicemail. There will be a new message but I can't play it back without getting an error message: "please wait while message is downloaded."

This happened multiple times with the S21 Ultra to the point where I got a replacement upgrade (S22 Ultra). Twice so far on the S22, I've had the voicemail issue. It comes up about every two weeks. 

It takes an extreme amount of effort when reporting the issue to the social media support team because they don't seem to have an understanding of technical issues. I tell them about the voicemail issues and they say "OK, you're unable to make calls. It's that correct?" I've had the voicemail completely reset to where I've lost messages and I'm not willing to have that done again. 

This started happening back in November and has yet to be resolved. This is completely unacceptable that a technical issue with an AT&T device has been allowed to progress this long without being corrected. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. 

The commonality of the issue here is that it's happening on an AT&T network, Samsung device, and the Galaxy series line of phones. 

THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!!!!!

I changed the SIM card and that seemed to have helped. I used to have voicemail messages but now I don't get any so I don't know if people just aren't calling me and leaving a message but I'm assuming that the voicemail still works

I had never used the visual voicemail, primarily due to ignorance-I didn't know what it was and didn't bother to find out. In any even, after finding out what it was, I used and it worked ONCE. I have uninstalled the app, cleared the cache, and tried everything on the interwebs to try and resolve the issue to no avail. From reading this whole thread, I'm not the only one that is (still) having issues. I get voicemails, but there is nothing "visual" about them. It's not "visual" voice mail, if you can't SEE, it.

It's still an issue and has been ongoing for over a year and yet At&t won't do anything about addressing the issue other than to just restate existing notes about the issue. I'm at the point where maybe it's time to go to another carrier.

@skydive069 if you haven't used visual voicemail then what did you use to know you had voicemail messages and to know from whom, when they called and what number they called from.

I, too, have had problems with Visual Voicemail since I purchased the Galaxy S22 Ultra.  I have spent countless hours with AT&T Customer Support (3 hours in one session; have had multiple other sessions in store and on phone) to no avail.  It is very frustrating as there is no follow-through on the part of the AT&T Support Team.  And my phone call is constantly dropped by AT&T staff.  We have tried all of the solutions offered in this thread, as well as numerous other experiments, but each time, the "fix" causes other issues - now I continually receive a message that "Voicemail Either non-existent mailbox, or incorrect password".   If I then attempt to edit my password, I receive a message "Voicemail Temporary system error occurred, please try after some time."  (AT&T has continually rest my password as well.)  Any suggestions appreciated!
