Visual Voicemail Not Working

When I try to open Visual Voicemail I get the message "Unfortunately Visual Voicemail has stopped." All I can do is click OK and the Visual Voicemail window closes.

We understand that the Visual Voicemail feature isn't working properly on your device. We encourage you to give our Troubleshoot & Resolve tool a try to start things off. Select the brand and specific device you have. Once you do that, you can visit Voicemail beneath Service/network issues. Follow the steps and see if your issue is resolved through those steps. Thank you for the information, but the resolution I found was not in those pages. 
To fix the problem I called myself and left a voicemail message. Then I was able to open Visual Voicemail.

My visual voicemail stopped working. Said it needed permissions to operate. I went into settings and gave the necessary permissions. It still won't work .
