Software updates for s20 plus 5G

The software updates aren't the problem. It's the fact that it happens like once every two weeks and wipes out certain simple settings like themes widgets background on my lock screen and home screen etc etc. It's becoming an annoyance and I'm trying to figure out why I would need this many updates anyway. Mind you I just got the phone about a month ago and it was a replacement from Asurion refurbished not brand new. Thanks for any help.

Thank you for your prompt response Marilyn. The phone is a S20+ 5G but I did have an S7 Edge a long time ago. Working at AT&T you probably have that info at your fingertips. Anyway, the second time the phone updated was for Android 13 that's why I was inquiring. It's updated three times since over the last month or so. I am going to try the troubleshoot and resolve app that I believe the phone already has downloaded. Hopefully I'm overreacting or it's just a quirk or anything where I do not have to go through getting another phone LOL. Honestly? I wish Asurion insurance had just been able to replace the battery in my S8. I really loved that phone. Thanks again.
