Safe mode?

I'm if the app can still track what the child phone is doing and where it goes while in safe mode.

Thanks for your response, @CXavier.

The answer to your question is no. Safe mode disables all third party applications, so you won't be able to utilize our Secure Family App while the child is in safe mode.

We're here if you have any other questions.

We're happy to help with questions about our AT&T Secure Family app @CXavier.

Keep tabs on your children whenever you want or at a specific time, for example every day after school. You can also get alerts when they enter or leave a location, like school or a friend’s house. Plus, see where your child has been over the past 7 days.

  • The app uses cell towers and GPS to help you track where family members are.
  • You'll get the best location results if you pair your device with your child's device. That way, Secure Family can use your child's smartphone GPS and the cell towers in our network to track locations. If you don't pair your child's device, we can't use GPS to locate it. And, we can't find the device if it isn't in our network coverage area.

Find your child's location on an interactive map. From the parent device:

  1. Select the family member you're looking for from the list of family members.
  2. Tap anywhere on the map to get to the map detail screen.
  3. Select the Refresh icon under the map.
  4. Wait for the map to update and show your family member’s location.

For additional support with the location tracking with AT&T Secure Family, visit our Get help with the app user guide for additional information for tracking in safe mode. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

I mean website tracking, like history and website blocking, not irl location tracking.

Thank you for reaching back out @CXavier.

With the AT&T Secure Family and Secure Family Companion apps, you can control what your children access on the internet and utilize website tracking. Keep in mind, these settings only work if you pair the parent and child devices.

  1. Select the child from the list of family members.
  2. Scroll down and tap Content Filters.
  3. Choose Add a website.
  4. Select Blocked or Trusted.
  5. Tap Block a website or Trust a website.
  6. Enter the website you want to block or add, and tap Save.

You can also customize filters. Add specific websites that you want your child to see or move apps or websites between the blocked and the trusted lists. Alert: As of February 13, 2020, Secure Family can no longer block What’s App, Telegram, and Tango. The app developers of these apps came up with roadblocks to prevent parents from controlling their children’s web and app use. We’re working hard to find ways around these roadblocks.

In addition, review our Web and Filters AT&T Secure Family page for additional information on access and permissions to help with FAQ when the Childs device is in safe mode. Let us know if you have any questions.

So can the parent see and block websites while the child is in safe mode or not?
