iPhone won’t send pics via sms

I have a refurbished iPhone 13, last week my phone stopped sending pics and/or screenshots to any device that doesn’t have iMessages enabled. I can send pics via iMessage, but if I try to send them to someone who doesn’t have an iPhone they won’t go through. I haven’t changed anything in my settings, so not sure what to do or how to fix this issue. Any advice? And yes, I have restarted my device several times and made sure my iOS is updated.
