International Day Plan Feature not functioning in UK

I am from USA currently on vacation in the UK. I have iPhone 14 pro. I was planning to use international day pass while I'm here. However, I am not having any success. When I try to use it I get a message that says I can't use it on my device. AT&T international help dies not work, nor does the chat feature in the app. Can you advise?

Hello @Mikesgirl1990, we understand the importance of staying connected while outside the US.

Thank you, @formerlyknownas for the information provided. We're happy to help with additional information for using your device abroad. Most international service issues can be solved by turning your phone off for one minute and then back on. In addition, check out our tips on using your device internationally.

  • To use cellular data, make sure Data Roaming is turned on in your device settings.
  • To call or send a message to the U.S., dial +1 followed by the 10-digit number. The “+” sign usually appears if you press and hold the “0” key on your dial pad.
  • To call or send a message to another country, dial + (country code) followed by the local phone number.
  • Some devices have settings that automatically add the correct prefix or country code when you’re calling numbers in your contacts. For iOS, turn on Dial Assist in your device Settings.

For trouble using data, confirm Data Roaming is turned on in your device Settings. If the issue persists call AT&T International Customer Care at +1.314.925.6925 (a free call from your wireless phone). We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Are you a brand new AT&T customer?

AT&T often does not allow new customers to roam for the first 60 days of service.

Does the phone say no service or does it show it is picking up a local network?

Have you power cycled your phone to see if it will pick up a local network once it turns back on?

You can also try resetting network settings. (This will erase any saved Wi-Fi connections)

I've been with ATT for many years. Our phones are only a week old, also I do have a business plan, not sure if that matters?

My phone says no service.

I cleared the network settings and power cycled yesterday, it didn't change anything.

I've tried the help number you listed yesterday, and again just now. It doesn't go through. Do I perhaps need to use USA country code?

Thanks for that info. None of these options have solved my issue. I have tried calling the help line several times. The call doesnt complete. It says call failed. Do you have other options?

@Mikesgirl1990

Do you have the option to use Wi-Fi calling in your accommodations? Well you may have no cellular, connecting to Wi-Fi May permit a Wi-Fi call so that you can call the 314 number.

Your phone saying no service concerns me. International day pass does nothing to permit or facilitate a connection, all it does is limit what you pay. Since you have no service I suspect that the $0 pay per use feature is "turned off" /not selected for your line. Without this feature on your line, it does prevent international roaming.

You may be able to add this feature if you can log in to your account using a US VPN or if you can reach support to do it for you.

Hello, @Mikesgirl1990. Thanks for letting us know you have tried the troubleshooting steps we provided.

Thank you @formerlyknownas for providing that helpful and accurate information.

Let us know if you are able to connect to WI-FI in the area to complete the call to international support!
