Has Google Assistant been removed entirely from Alcatel Smartflip phones??
I recently saw notification on my Smartflip phone that software had been updated. Didn't make note of the date, but I now can find no evidence that Google Assistant is loaded on the phone. Here are latest Details from Settings:
Model: 4052R
SVN: 05 (software version number?)
Software: KaiOS 2.5.2
Build Number: ZX4OuaO0
Platform Version: 48.0a2
Build Identifier: 20210902101742
No more voice-assisted SMS messaging, which I absolutely relied on. No more answers to oddball questions. And I can't even find Google Assistant as a downloadable option under Utilities on the KaiOS Store app.
When I press and hold down the large OK button, there's no response at all.
Google Assistant was the most important value-add function for me on the Smartflip. Can anyone confirm that it's been intentionally withdrawn by AT&T or Alcatel? Or is there some setting on the phone I need to change to re-activate it?

Being able to use Google Assistant on your phone and following the latest update is understandable, @cjrtulsa!
However, we want to advise that the latest KaiOS update for the Alcatel Smartflip does not include the Google Assistant. You will want to contact the device and/or software manufacturer for more information.
We do invite you to take a look at some of our selection of phones which will include an artificial intelligence-powered voice assistant like Google Assistant.
Thank you for your participation in our Community/Forums. We hope this info helps!

Your phone has a different operating system that is not based off of Google. If you want to Google operating system with Google Assistant you probably should replace the phone.

Thanks for commenting, @lizdance, but Google Assistant has been a feature of the Smartflip phone since it was first announced by AT&T. From the current phone listing on the AT&T site:
https://www.att.com/buy/phones/alcatel-smartflip-4gb-volcano-black.html
"Voice dialing and voice commands: Yes + Google assistant"
Google invested $22 million in KaiOS in 2018 to enhance smart features of the OS, including maps, YouTube, and Google Assistant. So my question remains: Is removal of Google Assistant from the SmartFlip intentional?

This just happened to my boyfriend's phone when I updated it for him. He's got mental challenges and the Google Assistant voice commands were such a godsend to him. He is just beside himself right now asking if there is any way I can undo the update...is there?

I have contacted AT&T 4 times about this issue and each time they PROMISE to send me another software update to correct this.
Here is the latest -
"10/27/21 - "Yes, I have asked my internal team again to send update again, and this time you will get the update within next 2-4 hours for sure.
I will also arrange the follow up call to check if everything okay, is that okay for you?"
