Delivered/Read message feature

I have all my settings checked & I no longer am able to use the delivered/ read feature on my phone . I have the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G .. what happened? No, I don't have the settings as listed in a previous forum - [settings: text messages: slide delivery on..] that setting is not on my phone.

We want to help get to the bottom of why you're unable to utilize the delivery/read feature on your device, @amaryllisjaiy

 

Use AT&T Device Help to answer your “how to” questions. The AT&T Device Help app is compatible with Android devices running Android 8.0 (Android O) or later and comes preloaded on most devices (check the AT&T folder). Access a variety of how-to tutorials and videos covering multiple topics that are customized for your device. 

  • From the Device Help main screen, select View all help topics.
  • Select the desired topic category, then select the desired tutorial topic.
    NOTE: A tutorial topic with a Video icon has a supporting video.
  • Or from the Device Help main screen, select the Search icon. Select the Search bar, enter the topic or function you are curious about, then select the desired search result.

Also, Advanced Messaging includes the delivery and read receipts feature. Do you have this enabled on your device? 

 

How do I turn Advanced Messaging on or off?
  • Open your messaging client and tap Menu, then Settings.
  • Choose Advanced Messaging and tap On or Off.
    • If you’re using the preloaded version of the new Messages by Google app, you can enable or disable chat features.
    • RCS Advanced Messaging from AT&T isn’t compatible with the version of Messages by Google available from Google Play Store yet.
  • Tap On to send read receipts. Tap Off if you don’t want to send read receipts.

Using Advanced Messaging:

 

Make sure you and the person you’re messaging are both in our domestic coverage area and have:

  • An AT&T wireless account with HD Voice (not available for AT&T PREPAID).
  • An Android smartphones that support Advanced Messaging1 from AT&T.
  • Advanced Messaging turned on.
  • A smartphone featuring the Messages by Google app with Enable chat features turned on and a Connected status.
  • Up-to-date software installed on your smartphone.
What do I get with Advanced Messaging?
  • File transfer sizes of up to 100MB.
  • Group chats of up to 100 people.
  • Read and delivery receipts for chat messages.
  • Notification showing when the person you're messaging with is typing.
