Call Blocking

I get recorded calls from New York numbers claiming to be the IRS. I know they are crap but would like to block them or report them. How do I block numbers on my Blackberry PRIV?

Call protect is is in your play store as Att call protect or Att security and call protect.  On postpaid plans you can open the app and add your number.  Simple.

prepaid can use Hiya (play store)

Neither can filter spoofed calls.

If you don’t know a number, don’t answer.  (Unless you want to mess with the fake IRS callers.)

Hello there @Satansanta,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Community and bringing this to our attention.  Getting un-wanting phone calls can get tiring and I understand your concern.  I have some information I would like to share with you.

There’s a couple ways to blocks phone numbers from getting in contact with you.  You can try our call protect feature we.  For more information on call protect please go to this link here. To block individual numbers you can go into your messages and block the number there.  Our Device Support Tool will show you the steps to block numbers.

I hope you have a great rest of your day!

Thanks for your response.  In your response you suggested the Call Protect feature but the place where I was supposed to click was not highlighted and not connected to any link.  In searching the Blackberry PRIV User Guide, the only think I found was to put the offending number in my contacts and then automatically send them to voice mail whenever they call.  The only problem with that solution is that there must be several folks running this scam in New York because I get them from different numbers.  I will continue to attempt to find out about the Call Protect feature on the AT&T website.  Thank, Don Owens
