blind user needing a way to read text messages on my flip phone

I am blind, and I use a flip phone, not a smartphone. I have a bluetooth earpiece that can tell me who's calling and some other info, but I have no way of getting information about text messages. My mom tried to get some help at the AT&T store, but whatever they tried to do didn't work. Is there any way I can get verbal access to texting features on my own, without sighted assistance? I'm looking for something similar to a screen reader or some kind of voice that will read the messages out to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

unfortunately your probably going to need a smart phone in order to download a text to speach app.

iPhone or Pixel have the ability to read text to you easily with text to speech options.  I agree you will not find the feature on flip phones.
