AT&T Wi-Fi Calling

Wi-Fi Calling.png

Talk and Text in More Places!

 Hello Community!

We pride ourselves in being able to deliver a blazing fast network across the United States, along with partnerships across the globe!  This allows us to have coverage in most areas where you need and want service.

We all have run into those areas where we don’t have the bars we need though.  To help keep you connected, AT&T has introduced Wi-Fi Calling!  In the thread below we will list all available devices that support Wi-Fi calling.

This will be a living document, and will be updated with future releases as well.

Current Supported Devices:

Note - This list was created when Wi-Fi Calling first launched, but most new devices now have this feature.  You can view all current devices that support Wi-Fi Calling by visiting our shop page.

AT&T Wi-Fi Calling is currently only supported on Post Paid service.  At this time, GoPhone service does not support Wi-Fi Calling.

Thanks so much!

They do not even list their Newest Samsung phone above as Supported the S7's!!!!   So why do we even need to read "How does it work"    AT&T should loose lots of customers to Verizon and T-Mobile  with their POOR Support and SLOW Updates.   Yet another reason why Updates should NOT be left up to Carrier to release but to Manf.   Like Apple and Google Nexus phones are.

Ah but try getting any enhanced lte services on a nexus device on att. You can't. No HD voice advanced messaging or wifi calling on non att branded android and Windows phones.

Very true Glimmerman, and why someone might ask.....

the answer is that AT&T uses proprietary services so AT&T can keep you tied to the "carrier" model, forcing you to buy AT&T branded phones if you want/need these services. Yet another reason AT&T is loathsome...

The g4 got it first because it was in development well before the g5 was released.

So, FINALLY got MM for my S6 Edge+ and no wi-fi calling? ugh, I'm sick of this company. I can't wait until my contract is up.

Why is AT&T so slow to release this feature on additional android phones? I have S7 edge, S7 and S6. You would think at the very least it would be available on the latest Galaxy phones. Are there at least any tentative release dates?

They pulled the wifi calling update from the g4 so its going to be a while.

Not much of an announcement.

@lizdance40@GLIMMERMAN76 Yeah, not much of announcement, and seconded, for me, with @GLIMMERMAN76, on the Windows phones!

My Windows phone model could WiFi calling today, it's been thoroughly tested/vetted, and works on European carriers, with ZERO modification, just a provision.  It sounds like Rogers in CA is also going to provision it.

So the announcment, as it stands now, boils down to the iOS phones that went active, back in October, correct?

I'd really like to understand the "roadmap" for these features, just so customers have an idea...

*If this (or another post in this thread) fixes your problem/issue, please mark it as "accept-solution", and I'll tag it, to make it easier for others to find the answer(s). FYI: I'm an AT&T end-user, just like most of us in the forum. Thanks.
