ATT Cingular Flip 2 CALL LOG
Second attempt to get a relevant answer.
My initial post follows. The steps outlined in the response were
almost exactly how I came to the conclusion that there is currently
no useful information on this topic. There is nothing in the User
Manual that references the capability to edit the call log but that
capability exists and does allow entries to be deleted.
The issue is that deleted entries reappear after an indeterminate
time (minutes to hours). Are they stored online? Is there a time or
numeric limit? What is the point of having a capability if no information
exists on how to use it? Or is it an 'Undocumented Feature'?
I there a Guru somewhere who can answer the question?

When call log entries are deleted from the phone they reappear
within a few hours to a few days. I have deleted the same log
entries four times and each time they have reappeared.
How do I permanenty delete log entries from the phone?

We understand you want an actual solution to your call log inquiry, @Miked.
We're here to inform you that there's only one method to deleting an entry in your call log and you're already aware of it. The next step would be to perform a factory reset:
****Note: A factory data reset will revert the device back to factory settings. It will permanently erase all personal data, preferences, settings and content such as pictures, ringtones and apps that are saved to the device. It is recommended that you save (backup) important data before proceeding.

To all and sundry:
Perhaps I was not clear enough in my initial post. I failed to specify
that I want to delete selected entries such as callers that appear in
my contact list and spam calls.
To suppose that a factory reset is an acceptable solution to what appears
to be simple problem is NOT an acceptable solution.
Yesterday afternoon I deleted all entries from Jan 2022.
They were still gone that night but were back next morning.
My questions remain: Where did they go, why did they come back,
and how do I make them go away forever.
Are We Having Fun Yet?

No SD card
Deleted Jan 2022, powered down, had an adult beverage, powered up. The little devils are back!!
ATT Cingular Flip 2 User Manual, no info on call log at all.
Tried deep diving the following sites, No luck.
