Wifi hotspot not working

I try to toggle on WiFi hotspot and it immediately switches back off. I have the unlimited plan and have never had any issues connecting before on this device.

In order to get you personalized help, let us know the make and model of the device you are trying to connect. Learn how to set up your mobile hotspot. Confirm you have a capable deviceplan and no changes on your plans were made, since you need to be on a compatible data plan to connect to your mobile hotspot.  

 

Can’t connect?

  • Check the internet connection on the device you’re using as a mobile hotspot. If you don’t have mobile data or can’t surf the internet, your hotspot may not work.
  • On the device you’re trying to get online, make sure you’re connecting to the hotspot’s network name and using the hotspot password.
  • Try restarting your mobile hotspot device and the device you want to connect.

Tips to connect to a mobile hotspot

First, know your hotspot name and password. Here’s how to find them.
  • iOS devices: Go to Settings, then Cellular or Personal Hotspot.
  • Android devices: Go to Settings, then Connections or Networks, and finally Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.

It absolutely does not help. I can't toggle the hotspot. My phone won't let me even turn it on. On your website, it states it's not available on my device, despite having used it on this device before. I have tried resetting my phone. And I'm using this phone to send this message, so internet connection isn't the problem.

In the meantime, let us know the make and model of the device that you are using, so we can better assist you. Lastly, if you haven't already, try our diagnostic tool to figure out while you are unable to connect to your mobile hotspot. 

 

You'll need to navigate to Fix my wireless>Internet> Mobile hotspot or sign in to get started.
