WIFI !!! Dodge or AT&T owe Ram owners service, refund, or an explanation !

Seriously we pay extra for the wifi packages in our trucks. The wifi worked when I bought my '21 Ram 1500 Big Horn in March of '21. Now for the last year plus my truck is suddenly incompatible! I want my wifi availability or money back for the upgrade package. AT&T I'm looking at you because my all but 2 year old truck is incompatible?!? Seriously someone needs to take action, fix the problem or release the contract to someone who will actually provide wifi for Ram owners. A year and you still give the same bovine fecal answers... oh is your vehicle on the list? You'll need to contact dodge. We can't help you. It's time to p*ss or get off the pot. Fix it or refund the upgrade charge. I have spent no less than 9 hours of my life wasted on the phone "trying" to "solve the issue".  At some point you need to admit that you're the problem.  Your move AT&T.

Sounds like Dodge (Stellantis, which  merged with FCA, Fiat Chrysler Automotive) needs to work more closely with AT&T. Neither one wants to take responsibility with keeping WiFi compatible and up-to-date.

I have a 2020 Rebel - wifi hotspot worked flawlessly until literally the moment after the last OTA Software Update of uConnect… then it just quit.  Now says “Hotspot not available for your vehicle.”

I was a Telecommunications Network Administrator for many years and was able to get a rep from Ram and a rep from ATT onto a conference call to get some answers.  I was informed of the following; confirmed by reps

from both sides…

”The issue lies with a firmware update contained in the last uConnect OTA update.  The bottom line is the radio was previously manufactured by Panasonic under contract through Stellantis, recently Stellantis modified that contract.  At that time Stellantis began creating their own OTA updates in-house instead of using Panasonic-created updates.  There is a now known issue with the code written by Stellantis which is unfortunately effecting a large number of customers.  There is a resolution in the works… but there is no timeline for release at this time.”

Basically, Stellantis made a mistake and ATT is at their mercy due to the coding error.  Further, Stellantis is aware they have fkd up but has not yet figured out either:

1. Exactly what is wrong and/or how to fix it

2. When the fix will be released

I agree (as someone having the issue myself); it’s massively frustrating and inconvenient… but their stories are absolutely plausible and we are just stuck waiting… sigh.

I too have the same issue. How can you sell a service that does not work. Really. Shame on the both of you for not solving this simple problem and tarnishing both your reputations with customers.
