Unwanted texts from 410-100-002 thru 410-100-051

I just started getting bogus text from 410-100-002 all the way thru 410-100-052. So I have received 50 texts and I have seen others with same problem but no answers. Is there not a solution? I’ve talked to AT&T and they were no help. Please someone help me. I’m almost thinking it is AT&T to get you to buy a new upgraded phone.

Hello Community,

Receiving text messages form 1-410-100 number can be quite annoying, and we're here to help. Our Block Unwanted Calls & Message article has information on how to block and report them.

Most importantly, we recommend that you do Not respond to any unknown calls or texts that aren't associated with your contacts/phone list. Also do not provide any personal information such as your Credit Card, Social Security number, or account info.

Instead, forward the message to 7726 (SPAM) so that we can report the number and research if it’s part of a scam.  Messages forwarded to 7726 are free. They don't count toward your text plan.  Learn more about forwarding messages to 7726 (SPAM) and our other reporting methods.

You can also visit our AT&T Security/ Call Protect  article to gather more information, as well as learn how to Block Unwanted Calls/ Messages.

Thanks

I have been getting spam with a lot of symbols and numbers from 1-410-100-004. How do I block this?

I have started to receive spam text messages that are apparently emailed to my phone number.

How can I prevent emailed text messages?

What is known about these unsolicited msgs?

I found a webpage that said to sign up at mymessages.wireless.att.com

I tried and it sent me a 5 digit completion code as a text msg from {Personal content removed for safety}

I was thus skeptical since it had the (410) area code, but I assume that is just what AT&T uses.

I would go ahead and try registering at at&t's messaging center ( http://mymessages.wireless.att.com/ ).  I haven't accessed it in a long time, but the last time I did it still provided a way to block SMS that are being sent from e-mail addresses, so that may do the trick for you.

After two attempts I was able to create an account and sign in.  Thanks

I added one of the spam msgs to the blocked list as it has an email address

The other spam msg did not have an email address - it said "FRM AT&T Account Services, SUB Urgent, MSG zip code needed"

The (410) 000 and (410) 080 area code and exchange pairs are apparently under control of AT&T.

My two spam msgs came in with siffixes of 001 and 002 on the 000 exchange.

My confirmation code for setting up the account came is as suffix 003 although on the 080 exchange.

I then sent an email from my hotmail account to my phone via  @txt.att.net.

It came in as suffix 004 on the 000 exchange.

My successful attempt at registering - the confirmation code came in as suffix 005 on the 080 exchange.

So looks like 000 exchange used for email sourced msgs.

080 exchange used for AT&T sourced msgs

And each msg regardless of source is assigned the next sequential suffix number.

Strange that the suffix is not 4 digits to complete [look like] a regular 10 digit phone number

Have you been getting spam text messages? Here's how you can help stop the spammers!

If you get a spam text message, forward the message to AT&T so we can help shut the spammers down!

Forward your spam text messages to 7726 and you'll receive confirmation that your forward was received almost instantly.

In most cases, you'll be asked to reply with the message with the spammer's phone number, so don't delete the spam text right away.

Here's how to foward text messages:

iPhone: Press the message (careful not to activate a link), then Edit, then tap the little circle next to the message, then forward to 7726.
Android: Press the message (careful not to activate a link), then choose Forward in the menu and forward to 7726.
Blackberry: Open the message, then using the Menu key, select Forward in the menu and forward to 7726.
Windows: Press the message (careful not to activate a link), then choose Forward in the menu and forward to 7726.

For other devices, go to http://www.att.com/devicehowto for instructions on forwarding text messages.

I have the same problem with getting spam texts from 410-100 and 410-200.  I have both of the suggested blocking apps and nothing helps.  I have chatted with NUMEROUS people on AT&T chat and no one has helped me.  There HAS to be a way to block the whole area code 410 but no one will give me an idea how.  It's ridiculous with the technology we have that we can't block an area code?

I have had this problem too for the entire month of october. I've opened support tickets every week. Today I spent THREE HOURS working with several agents. SPOILER: I'm still receiving spam texts. Here is an excerpt from the end of our chat:

Jacob : I have made the changes. I have blocked all the messages from phone numbers with prefix 1400 in network settings. Please restart the device so the changes I have made on my end can be saved in your phone settings.
Me : do you mean 1410?
Jacob : Yes, 1410. Sorry!
Jacob : Sounds fine?
Me : If it will work.
Jacob : It should work since it has been blocked directly in phone settings.
Me : good. I have restarted my phone. I hope this works.
Me : If it doesn't, or if I need help again, can you please tell me the best way to reach someone fast and explain my situation? I have saved so many ticket numbers this month and explained my situation to so many agents. I'd prefer not to waste so much time in the future. I'm grateful to have a solution now.
Jacob : I recommend you to call on this number 800-331-0500.
Jacob : But I assure you that you will no longer receive spam messages.

Hello, @Kcph7544,

Thanks for reaching out on this. Once you've forwarded the suspicious text message to 7726, that's it. That's all you need to do. If you ever receive a suspicious text that can not be forwarded to that number, you can send it to abuse@att.net.

Have a great week.

I have the same problem.....and they text in the middle of the night and wake me for their nonsense.  I've tried ignoring, blocking each as it comes in (then they just change numbers) and responding with "notifying law enforcement of your harrassment."  All to no avail.  Really annoying!  And AT&T help is non existent

I just received the text from 410-100-005 and it looked a message from ups, so I clicked. What should I do? Will it happen bad things to me?

Received a text from 410-200-0552, supposedly from PNC warning me about an account breach.  Looks more legitimate than most scamp texts or emails, but fraudulent.  I went online and accessed my PNC accounts directly, and there was no breach.

@at&t I have been getting these texts 1(410) xxx-xxx NOTE that is its 9 numbers, not 10 and therefore cant be blocked, for months.  Calling support is useless, they put a block on my phone, each time one more serious than the other so they say, but nothing changes and the spam texts continue.  I attempt to forward the text to 772-6 but since it's not a whole phone number AND it seems they come from an infinite cache of fake numbers, they aren't recognized by your bot and therefore does no good.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help us to get these stopped!  I get upwards of 50 a day, night and day.

This is ridiculous that AT&T have done nothing for the last 11 years and it all have a prefix number of 1-410-100 or 1-410-200 with the last 3 digit changing! it not even a full number. I've never had spam text now I'm getting it daily since switching to AT&T 1 month ago! How are you allowing these people to spam and do nothing about it for 11 years now!?! @ATTHelp @ATTHelpForums @ATTHelpFeedback
