Unlimited Data and Tethering

I know tethering has not been allowed on unlimited data plans but my Galaxy S7 just got an update and now tethering is working where before it would say it wasn't enabled on my plan. Does anyone know if there has been a change to the terms that allows it now? I couldn't find any mention of it searching online.

There is no change in unlimited data rules.  So one of 2 things happened.

1.  You are not on an unlimited plan anymore.

2.   Your plan is incorrectly set up.  If you do tether, ATT can and will take your plan away or terminate service.

1 seems more likely, you might want to check your account.

Or a third possibility, the software update has somehow allowed tethering when it shouldn't.

I checked and my plan hasnt changed. Still unlimited. So I guess I just wont mess with it. It always acted like it was "phoning home" to see if tethering was allowed then wouldnt turn on. Now it just turns on, so it was kind of strange.
