Texting with wifi calling

I have an s8+ and have pretty poor service at my house. I rely on wifi calling a lot. however, the texting seems really inconsistent with it - I have issues with messages not going through, in both directions. It's (obviously) difficult to tell when it happens, even with "sent" and "delivered" indicators on. I also get regular "issue receiving MMS" notifications and failure to send notifications. it's really inconvenient and frustrating, especially since I rely on it at home. and before anyone asks, wifi signal is awesome - 3 month old router, had Comcast out to check signal, no other devices have issues (only one phone, though), etc. AT&T support has been no help, can anyone here offer suggestions?

We are having the same issues. My wife recently bought a Moto G6 Play from AT&T and turned on the WIFI calling. I have an older Moto phone and use a Microcell as we have no over the air signal at our house. Her Wifi calling works fine but she does not receive texts. When she leaves the house and gets back to an over the air signal ares all the texts come through. Any ideas on what the problem is or how to fix it?
