text message notification alert from forwarded email

i can receive a forwarded email via a text. no problem.
the problem i have, is that i would like to have the text message come from a consistent number/name, so i can setup a contact, and therefore setup a particular notification alert (to wake me up at night)... the texts are now coming from different numbers.. does this make sense?

Hello arndtd, let's answer your question on if there's a way to setup forwarded email via text to a contact.

There isn't a way to have @txt.att.net messages come from the same contact number since the service uses an email to short message service which will show to be from a different series of digits every time a message is sent through that service.

If you use @mms.att.net, each text will come from the same source.

You can compose a new email message and send a text, picture, or video message to a wireless number.

Text message - Compose a new email and enter the recipient's 10-digit wireless number, followed by @txt.att.net. For example, 5551234567@txt.att.net.
Picture or video message - Compose a new email and enter the recipient's 10-digit wireless number, followed by @mms.att.net. For example, 5551234567@mms.att.net.
