Suspicious ATT Free Msg

I have received several text messages such as:   ATT Free Msg: November bill is paid. Thanks,  Here's a little gift for you: r5kr.xyz/Ju9PHL3oFu

This seems suspicious to me so I did not click the link but am wondering if anyone else have received similar text messages.

thanks

We're happy to help with the suspicious AT&T free messages, @alexnbel.  The one you mentioned above is one of the common spam texts that customers have been receiving.  We recommend you don't click the link.

We have some useful fraud & security resources.

  1. We have helpful information on how to recognize and prevent phone scams.
  2. You can also add your number on the Do Not Call Registry list.

Let us know if this helps or if you have more questions.

I also got that text! Just today in December, considering it’s not November anymore I’m suspicious about the text. Did not click the link. Just thinking of blocking the number

That's a good idea, Beebarr. Be sure that you also look over the information that Elmi provided to keep your personal information as secure as possible.

I have received the same message.

It came from a phone number outside of my area code.

I decided not to click on it either, to play it safe

I have been bloacking the numbers for the past 9 months or so - they just keep changing the phone number to work around the weak individual number blocking - I am wondering if AT&T can take stronger actions against these scammers - go after the source? use your lobby to influence goverment to protect consumers? put more money (your profits) to educate people to not click on these things? just some ideas

I've been getting these texts for months,  I sometimes get 5 or 6 a week. Never the same #, no mail box if you call them back. Why can't AT&T track them down thru the links they include in the texts?  I'm getting tired of the m disturbing me and hope others are not being taken by these bandits.

Received suspicious text message this morning that read: AT&T Free Msg: You have charged 30.0 due to increasing spam message. Sender was identified by this phone number: +1(360) 348-2084. I deleted the message without clicking it.
