SPAM texts

I have received the same text message from 148 different numbers. The first one came from (410) 200-534. The last three digits increase by one number every time the text is sent. The last one i received was from (410) 200-608. I have also received the same message from (410) 100-032 that has also increased by one number to (410) 100-107. I have reported nearly every one of these to the SPAM (7726) number and blocked each number with no results. I called AT&T and was told to install an app called RoboKiller. It cost me $20 and did nothing. I called AT&T again and was told they didn't have any information on the numbers and to call Apple support. To say I'm frustrated, would be an understatement. Last night I was awakened 7 times by this nuisance text. There is no link in the text to follow, so I have absolutely no idea where these messages are coming from. I have had the same cell number for over 12 years and do not want to change it. Does anyone have any information on how to stop this?

Those numbers indicate the spam text is coming via the email to text gateway. The spammer is sending an email to yournumber @ txt.att.net. The numbers themselves are legitimate. They are just the numbers ATT uses for messages through the email to text gateway. The originating email address should be in the text. When you forward the text to SPAM, report that email address, not the number. You can also call and request your number be blocked from the email to text gateway.

That FRM: line is the originating email, unfortunately the actual address is masked. Do you per chance have an entry in your address book under “Alert Notification”? That also appears to be a legitimate alert notification, not spam. Perhaps they are just sending it to the wrong number.

Hello,

Call or chat online to change your number, otherwise get the free Att Call Protect app to self report these as spam and hopefully they stop coming through.
