Short code are suddenly getting blocked... i need this feature back —urgently—
hello,
please let me know ASAP what i need to do... or what you need to do... to restore short code messaging to my AT&T service.
this is very urgent.
i have numerous banking/financial services applications for which i have set up 2-factor authentication, and which sends a short code to my mobile device.
short codes have been sent to my iphoneX for several years, with no issue.
within the last several days, these short code are being blocked, and i am in —critical— need of this service.
i cannot access business and personally critical information with short code service blocked.
please advise on solution ASAP. thank you.

Hello @waldenk!
Follow these instructions and dial these AT&T services to verify whether your device can receive short codes. Also, it’s recommended that you check for any updates to your carrier settings on your Apple iPhone X by navigating to Settings > General > About and look next to Carrier.
To download and install carrier settings simply follow these steps:

hi lar,
i appreciate your reply and guidance.
it turns out the the issue was, luckily, far simpler.
(when i called att biz care, the customer service agent said that my “short codes” were being blocked.)
it turns out, after some additional research on my part, and a second escalation call to att technical support...
that in fact the problem was that my att text messaging feature had been turned off (my employer manages my att service and had apparently made this service change without any notification.)
since 99% of my text messages arrive via apple iMessage and other IOS users, i was unaware that the att service was off. all i knew is that text messages from banks, retailers, etc were not arriving on my device.
i easily arranged for that text service to be reinstated, and i’m back in business.
WHEW! big relief.
thanks very much for your reply.

I am not receiving short codes to my att.net email from my bank. This started about over a month ago. How to I get this issue fixed?
