Personal Hotspot

I have the Unlimited Your Way plan from AT&T with the Personal Hotspot option included. If I turn this feature on from my cellphone and use it for WiFi to my laptop, will I be charged anything extra on my bill for using this feature. Thank you!

We are here to help with your personal hotspot concerns, @Tommyk6363.

 

AT&T Unlimited Your Way allows you to select what plan you want for each line. Each line can have a different plan. You're able to choose from the starter, extra, and premium plans. Each of these plans offer mobile hotspot data per line per month.

 

Each plan has a different amount of hotspot data that is offered. For example, if you are currently on the premium plan, you have 50 GB of hotspot data that is included with your plan. You will not be charged extra for using your hotspot data. With that being said, yes you are able to connect your laptop to your mobile hotspot with no charge. 

 

You can manage and check your hotspot data usage by:

  1. Going to Usage. You’ll see an overview of your data use since your last bill.
  2. Select a bill period from the dropdown.
  3. Find the number you want info on and look for Includes mobile hotspot data. We’ll show you how much the device has used, if applicable.
  4. For detailed info, select View more usage details and choose See data, text, and talk logs.

Thank you for your help. It is nice to know that I can use a laptop for my Personal Hotspot and not be charged extra. I was able to also check my Personal Hotspot data now on my AT&T app under usage. Thank you again!

One further question about my Personal Hotspot on my AT&T account….what happens when I use up my 3GB of Personal Hotspot on my plan before the end of my billing month? Does the hotspot stop working on my laptop or does it just slow down? Thank you again for all of your help!
