Personal hotspot not on unlimited data plan

This is problem and answer: I had 30 Gb plan. Had a lot of rollover data. Reduced to 10gb, within a week realized I needed more. Called att to go back to original plan. Was told unlimited would be $24 less than original plan.

Was not told I could not use hotspot on this unlimited plan. I am a full time RVer, traveling and working on the road as a researcher and consultant. . I must have the hotspot from my iPad to work on my laptop. This lost me income for 2 days before I discovered the unlimited plan cut my access not a connection problem. Makes me angry!

Have now now learned there is unlimited "choice" plan AND WHAT I NEED IS THE UNLIMITED PLUS PLAN! Which allows personal hotspot and tethering.

Hi @Dgoldman,

We certainly want you to be able to use your hotspot, so I understand why you would want to be on the Unlimited plus Plan. I am elated to provide some assistance with your particular issue.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has brought about and I should be able to get you moved over to the Unlimited Plus Plan so you can use the hotspot right away. I am going to send you a private message, please be on the lookout for it. The message will appear in the upper right corner of the screen in your Forum’s Inbox.  I will get you completely taken care of!

Have a great rest of your day!

@Dgoldman Unlimited Plus is new as of March 2017. http://att.com/unlimited

Previous unlimited plans did NOT allow hotspot/tethering.

YOU can change your plan on-line at http://att.com

Unlimited PLUS even allows HOTSPOT devices for tethering...
