Nighthawk Hotspot at&t

 I've been trying to understand some things  since I got this Hotspot. I ordered it at a at&t location and picked it up at that location when it came in. I read the start guide and followed the instructions but the default password didn't work. I then asked the at&t rep for help. I watched what he did and he entered a password that worked but it wasn't the default password. Anyway we got it working but it bothered me. Later went to sign in again at the att wifi manager site and got a message telling me that I was not on a secure site and not to enter any passwords. So I guess my question is why does attwifimanger have a login page that is not secure? Https is secure but http is not and that doesn't seem right.
