New to AT&T and cannot receive texts from short code numbers (verification texts)
Hi to the AT&T Community,
I am new to ATT (3 mo) and ever since I made the change, my iphone stopped accepting text messages from any business who sends me a verification code. I spent half an hour on the phone with AT&T technical support only to be told that the rep had to write up a ticket and escalate my problem to a tech team that is better than the tech support team that he is on. The rep said that I would hear from someone within 48 hours.
It's now been over a week and no one has contacted me. I don't know how else to get help from ATT and I am hoping someone out there has the solution. Please note that I have been walked through all the basic checks done with technical support and none of them helped.
It's a major problem because if I need to go to, for example, PayPal to change my password, they will not allow it unless I can verify my identity via a code they text to my phone. This is a serious security risk and I am shocked that ATT doesn't make it a high priority!
