Msg /data Parental controls

I Recently Added my son and his iPhone to my account and I was wondering if anyone had any advice or help on how I can keep an eye on his messaging and browsing history without him thinking I’m “invading his privacy “ honestly If I pay the bill he forfeits his privacy so it doesn’t have to be 100% discreet.  I’m currently considering Smart limits for AT&T but it seems to only be for blocking we have unlimited data so blocking his data use is not necessary. however I would like to see incoming and outgoing text messages and browsing history. I can check the numbers he msgs via bill but I know for sure he sometimes deletes his messages and browsing history before he turns it into me for charging. So if there’s anything a chip or app or service option that I could try it would be a great help.

Hello @Bambera,

Thank you for sharing your concern on the Community Forums! I will be happy to share some information with you in regard to parental control options!

I understand the importance of being able to manage your children’s device usage. While Smart Limits is an excellent parental control option, it doesn’t have the capability to track browsing history or read messaging content.

On the other hand, Apple offers ways to enable restrictions on your kid’s device. To do this, from Settings, scroll down until you see General > Restrictions > tap Enable Restrictions > tap this option and create a passcode, which will be used to manage certain functionalities.  Please check out this great article, which provides more details.

For more options, you may want to take a look into the App store and look for a third party app, which best meet your needs.

I hope you find this informative. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to let us know. Have a wonderful day!
