late delivery of voicemail to inbox

If your voicemail box has a delayed delivery check your wireless coverage as your phone needs a wireless connection to receive voicemail messages. 

Once you have confirmed you have wireless coverage, troubleshoot your voicemail to pinpoint the root cause to the delayed voicemails. Sign in to your AT&T account and then select the Make and Model of your device> then click "Get started"and follow the prompts. 

In addition, your myAT&T account is a useful tool, which allows you to accomplish resetting your password in only a few simple steps! Please complete the following:

1. Log in to your account
2. Go to Accounts & Services > My Wireless
3. Scroll and select the device you want to manage
4. Select Reset voicemail password and follow the prompts
5. You’ll receive a temporary password via text message. Please use this code to access your voicemail and change your password to something more personal to you.

Hello @rsbell, we're happy to help with troubleshooting the delay in receiving your voicemails. 

Your phone needs a wireless connection to receive calls, access voicemail, download Visual Voicemail messages, and get voicemail notification alerts. To check that your signal is strong enough for this:

1. Turn your phone off for 10 seconds and then back on.
2. Place a test call to 611.
3. Do one of the following:
   • If the test call is successful, press and hold 1 to dial into the voicemail system.
   • If your test call fails, confirm you have wireless coverage.
   • If Visual Voicemail won't download, press and hold 1 to check your messages.
   • If you aren't getting voicemail notification alerts and you aren't traveling outside the AT&T wireless coverage area, see how to turn voicemail notification alerts on and off.

The problem is not lack of notification but rather lack of prompt delivery to my voicemail box.

By the way, I do not know my "voicemail password" it seems, because nothing I tried gave me access after I dialed in to the system.
