Issues with the email to text feature

My friend is trying to send me a text message using the AT&T email to text message feature. The “from” email address is [email scrubbed]. The sending email server shows it was sent successfully but I never received a text message. Can you help out? Thank you.

We can definitely provide you with the necessary steps for sending email-to-text and text-to-email messages.

 

Please have your friend follow the steps at this link to Send an email as text to an AT&T wireless number and let us know if you're still having any issues receiving their message.

thank you for the reply!

 

yes, i have followed all of those steps and have done other troubleshooting as well:

 

- sending it to @txt.att.net doesn't work

 

- sending it to @mms.att.net doesn't work either

 

- having them disable iMessage doesn't work either

 

- this issue just started happening out of the blue one day, nothing has changed on my end

 

- they do successfully receive an email to text when i send from a different email address on a different email server but i need to use this specific email server

 

- this specific email server shows the email was sent and accepted by the receiving server (AT&T) and i get no email bounce backs

 

Are you able to investigate on the actual receiving server on your end and see why they are not being sent as text messages to the final destination?

We want to clarify if this was an error with your phone or your friend's. Is your friend able to successfully complete the email to text to any other number(s)? Do you have a spam blocking app installed on your phone?. This may filter messages coming from numbers that are not in your address book.
