I have had enough of these SMS spam messages.
Dearest at&t,
Why can't you block all text messages that:
1) Start with 1410 and are 10 digits in length?
2) Start with 410 and are nine digits in length?
I am sick and tired of getting these messages. I've been reporting them to 7726 for WEEKS. The pattern is clear and easy to stop.
FILTER THESE SMS MESSAGES OR TELL US HOW TO DO IT OURSELVES!
Thanks!

No, the pattern is not clear and easy to stop. Those 1-410 numbers indicate the texts are originating from email through the email to text gateway. The 1-410 number is assigned by the gateway. The actual sender is an email address and they constantly change. ATT won’t block them all simply because there are many legitimate users of email to text. If you want all texts from emails blocked, call ATT and request your number be blockedbut be aware that will block all texts from email including legitimate ones.

Can I get someone to filter these posts that pop up twice a week and say the same thing about texts from 1410xxxx? If we can't get posters to search long enough to find the existing threads, why do we think it's so easy for the carriers to determine which texts are valid and which ones are not (especially without reading them, which would have every privacy advocate up in all kinds of arms).

Thanks, sandblaster for the useful info; I do appreciate it.
JefferMC: stop being so crotchety. Understand that people leaving messages here can be (Edited per community guidelines) off customers who are annoyed with at&t.

The problem I have with these posts about the 1410*** messages is that every poster, without fail, thinks that AT&T has some magic wand that is locked up in the CEO's office and the only reason these annoying messages haven't gone away is that he cannot be bothered to wave it.
If they bother you so much, then you do have a control you can exercise: you can tell AT&T to disable the e-mail to text gateway for your number. But some users have to be able to get these e-mail originated texts.
