I can longer send and receive pictures via text.

I have the Lumia 640 on the ATT GoPhone $30/month unlimited Talk and Text

I've always been able to send pictures without having a data plan but just recently I noticed I can no longer send and receive pictures. I've read through a bunch of the tutorials on here and eve manually added the MMS APN in my SIM settings but still cannot send pictures. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi @jwawrejko

Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums! We apologize for the confusion with sending picture messages on your GoPhone device! We want to help walk you through the requirements for having the feature on your device to get you back up and running! We want to make sure that you are enjoying sharing pictures and videos right from your mobile device!

Most GoPhone plans include unlimited nationwide Talk & Text. Additional services are available at pay-per-use rates. Nationwide picture and video messaging is available at $0.25 per message sent or received if you do not have a messaging plan on the account.

Normal texts (SMS) use the voice network, MMS uses the Internet (data) to deliver the picture. The confusion seems to come in this case in the difference between how it works and how it's billed. The MMS will use data, and a data tracking app on your phone may record the data used, but it is not billed as such. The billing system sees an MMS message and bills it as a picture message, which in your case is included a part of your plan. Data is used, but not billed as data, as it is only being used for transmitting the picture.

Since you are on the $30 monthly plan, you are correct in saying that you have the Unlimited Talk & Text. To send and receive picture messages, it will require a data connection.

For additional information on GoPhone plans, you can click on GoPhones through the AT&T website.

Hope this helps!
