How to group text more than 10 on AT&T
Learn what devices support Advance Messaging
The Wait is over! Through 2021, AT&T is continuing to increasing the number of people you can group text. It is slowly being rolled out and tested on many devices. Check out David T's Advance Messaging page for more information regarding group messaging and the new features to come.
***********Information below is still valid for some devices until the update is pushed to it.***********
***********We do not know when your device will support group messaging but it is coming.***********
Why Are There Limits?
AT&T has implemented a limit to the number of group message participants as a way to protect our customers from spam and/or malicious software. AT&T is vigilant about protecting you, our customers, from unsolicited text message spam.
Is AT&T Going To Update The Limit?
Some devices have the ability to send group messages with up to 30 contacts. More updates are coming to increase that number but I do not have any information when a change will take place. Last updated 2/23/2021.
If spam messages have affected you, you can report them by:
- Forwarding a copy of the SMS and MMS spam to short code 7726 (SPAM).
- You are not charged for forwarding the spam message to 7726.

Simple, find another provider, leave ATT and maybe they'll get a clue. Most likely, you are icing on their corporate and wealthy customer cake who don't figure it out an don't care. Notice they like to say "Solved" in the string with the lame reply. ATT has a business model that is not for the average person. Thus, limits unless you get all on their network and pay the extra heavy fee for the large group text, up to 20,000, but all have to be on the network AND pay the extra fee. They want the corporate and wealthy who buy into a enterprise type system and pay regularly without much review as prices increase. I urge everyone to change to another provider one their contract is up. It will be much less aggravating and you will not get the minimal effort.

Just give the people what they want and switch it to 20.

The industry standard is not 10. Don't insult our intelligence. The only people I know with this issue are AT&T customers.

AT&T needs to fix this now. It's 2018, this is how people communicate. There are many, many instances in life where more than 10 people need to get the same message. AT&T is basically not meeting my communication needs, and I will be switching my entire family to a competing carrier if this issue isn't resolved immediately. I've been putting up with this for far too long. Do you want to be a communications company or not?

Well because of this ridiculous rule, we have to leave people out of our family group message because not everyone will fit in one. How horrible for them.

How long does it take for AT&T to evaluate this problem and correct the issue? I'm sure your subscribers would be able to block spam messages if we even ever get any. We are not asking AT&T to remove the limit completely. We are simply asking to have the limit raised to at lease the same limit (20) the other providers have set. If you really want to work on a real problem, why doesn't AT&T do something about all the SPAM CALLS your subscribers are receiving and blocking EVERYDAY? Now that's a real problem AT&T can work on that it's subscribers would appreciate!

To everyone having the 10 limit group text problem. This post by an AT&T employee states that the problem is solved which is not true since it hasn't been changed. AT&T probably does not read these messages unless it gets escalated. Below the Solved banner it shows that only 6 people have this problem which is not a true count of subscribers who have this issue. Maybe if everyone clicks on the Me Too button at the bottom and gets this number higher, AT&T will see that this is a problem we would like resolved. Please click on the Me too button so that we can get this number up.

Such Garbage..AT&T's limit for group Texting has absolutely nothing to do with spam and/or malicious software. Nor is ATT vigilant about protecting customers, from unsolicited text messages. It's a technology and Cost thing. Please stop lying to your customers.
