Group Messaging Not Working on iPhone - AT&T Community Solutions
Learn how to resolve Group Messaging Issues
Having trouble sending a text in a group message? What about just sending a text? Are you missing the conversation? That is never good but we can help with that!
How To Restore Group Text Functionality
Fix 1
Close and relaunch the Message app - tap the Home button twice and swipe the Messages app up.
Fix 2
Make sure you have enough space - this will require deleting file like images and videos.
Fix 3
Tap Settings > Scroll down and tap Messages > Scroll down to SMS/ MMS
and disable the feature and then enable it (also known as toggling the feature).
Fix 4
Go to Settings > Tap on General > Scroll down and tap Reset > Select Reset Network Settings > Enter your pass-code > Tap Restart Network Settings
Heads Up: This will delete Wi-FI and network settings on your device.
Fix 5
Delete the group conversation and start a new one - this may or not resolve the issue. You will lose the group conversation. Consider backing up your device beforehand is recommended.

I'm having the same problem. I'm not receiving text messages from Androids in group texts. I spent 2 hours at an ATT store this past Thursday, but they could not solve my issue. They were able to reproduce the issue on my iphone X. They even put my sim card into other phones in the store and were able to reproduce the issue, however, they COULD NOT solve the issue.... I would love to know the solution to this issue.....
Thanks!!

Yes. I applied the solution twice. I still have delays of over an hour for group messages to carriers other than AT&T, even when I am sending to another I Phone. BB

I complete the latest software updated for my iPhone 8+ last night. The steps above did not improve my group messaging issue. Can AT&T please report this issue to apple.

AT&T is so expensive and the service gets worse everyday they should reduce our bills to half as the service is getting worse

this just started happening to my wife's iPhone Xs last week. the above fix did nothing, except delete all of her saved WiFi passwords. gees, thanks Apple for having the only way to reset the network in iOS 12 slam ALL radio functions. Ridiculous.
The weird thing is she can send MMS messages (i.e. pictures or group texts) but she can't receive them. If she reboots the phone, she usually gets a couple of these "stuck" MMS texts, but not all that are outstanding. Sometimes she gets none of these texts on a reboot. It's really random.
I talked to AT&T advanced support yesterday. They said there are many iPhones out there with the issue, they are aware of it and looking into the problem. We recently changed plans so they are looking there first to see if that contributed to it. One thing they said to try in the meantime is to turn off iMessages, but leave MMS messages on. That hasn't made any change yet that we've noticed.
I've seen some solutions posted on other forums. usually it involves deleting the phone number from the system and issuing a new SIM with that number, basically just eliminating the problem SIM number from the system. And in one unfortunate case they determined that the phone number had been flagged by another carrier as a spammer and so was being blocked. The only fix there was to issue a whole new phone number. Yuck.
Edit: looks like they were able to address this on the network level: back logged MMS texts started coming through today and I tested it with a bunch of new group MMS texts via Android and Windows phones and it works again. Thanks AT&T support!

Same issue. I’m switching to Verizon ASAP. Tired of paying all this money and I can’t group text.

I have been having issues on & off for about 6 months now on my Iphone 8. Nothing that I have tried today is fixing it. I turned on/off sms/mms messaging, on/off airplane mode, reset network settings, rebooted my phone etc. but I still have literally hundreds of outstanding group messages that I have not received from yesterday and today. This is getting ridiculous. Please help.

Even going into the store is pointless.

iPhone 10X with the same issue. Spent several hours with apple support. The group (both ATT and non ATT users) get my texts, but I don't see any of their's. The only way the messages are coming is if I turn off my phone and then turn it back on. Then I get a whole batch of messages at once. It started about Wednesday, right around the same time the last update from Apple came in. ATT needs to fix this!
