Does the hotspot (iOS) stop working after limit cap?

I was using my hotspot (iPhone 12) just fine, and - at the cap - it appears that both Windows and macOS machines cannot "see" it, and associated devices cannot "activate" the hotspot after the cap.

Other phones (hotspots) on the account continue to work properly.

Is this true? Or am I imagining things?
