Change the Texting Limits

You need to increase the number of people you can communicate with in a text.  Some people use this for business or for organizational groups that have more than 10 people they need to be in contact with.  Your reason about spam is a joke.  We have a closed group that your number needs to be added in order to receive or place a text.  I need to be in contact with people at work, I am also involved with my local school PTA's, school sport teams, school booster club, a travel softball team, and a local community parent group.  When we need to have a meeting or we are planning an event it is much easier to text a group rather than call the individual people or e-mail so everyone is on the same page at the same time.  

 

I have been an AT&T customer almost since the beginning of cell phone useage and never had spam texts.  Sadly, will be leaving our family plan behind to go with any other service that has does not cause these problems.  I have polled many of the people in my groups and the only people with this problem is AT&T customers.  The Verizon, T-mobile, Sprint carries are not in this situation.

Hello, @pissedtexter,

 

If you haven't yet, reset your J3's network settings. Go into Apps>Settings>Backup and reset. Tap Reset network settings. Tap RESET SETTINGS. You may need to enter the PIN, password, fingerprint, or pattern to confirm. If that doesn't help, delete the old group chat and start each up again fresh on your phone.

Hello, @pissedtexter,

 

We'd love to help with this. What type of device do you have? Is Advanced Messaging a feature? Devices with that can have thirty people in their group texts and it is expected to be expanded sometime in the future. If you're not certain this is a feature on your device, let us know what type of phone this is.

I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 - I tried going into advanced messaging with no success.

Hi, @pissedtexter,

 

Advanced Messaging is enabled for the Galaxy J3. Go into the Messaging app>Menu icon>Settings. Scroll down and tap Advanced Messaging.  From here, you should be able to toggle Advanced Messaging on. If you don't see the option, you may need to update the software on your device. Let us know if this helps.

The advanced option is toggle to the on position. My phone has no updates available at this time.
