Can't send or receive MMS images while on WiFi

My husband and I both have brand new Samsung Note 10s. While on WiFi, I am not able to send or receive pictures but he is. Is there a setting on my phone that I can change or is my phone defective?

Hello @berryice42,

We'd be more than happy to take a closer look into why you're unable to send or receive MMS text messages over your Wi-Fi connection. We'll need some more details in order for us to better assist you. Have you and your husband both made sure to Turn on Advanced Messaging in the messaging settings on your cell phones? Did both of you already Set up Wi-Fi Calling on your cell phones, to be able to talk and text over an active Wi-Fi connection? Please let us know. In the meantime, we recommend using our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool to fix this. Simply select your device and the issue, then follow the steps to find a solution. Let us know if this helps.

@ATTHelp My wife and I are having the same issue. If this doesnt get fixed immediately I am cancelling our account (been with att for over 12yrs now). These are business phones and sending/receiving pictures is crucial. Its been happening for a few months at least if not more.

@ATTHelp My wife and i both have S9s with AT&T. both bought new from your store. We have always had weird quirks with service. But our picture messaging has become a hassle. I cannot receive pictures from her when my wifi is on, whether i'm on wifi or not. I have to physically turn off the wifi app then "resume" downloading her picture message. I've called before and you have me go through the whole troubleshooting thing.....wifi calling, advanced messaging, reset networks, yada yada yada....nothing works and nothing changes. It's only her. But now when a friend sends a picture, i get a message saying that its too big or one of the attachments was removed. i have never had a problem receving things from him before and it is only with him that i get the messages. what gives?? about ready to go back to verizon. and it's only 2 years with you...

Having the exact same issue.  I live equidistant from 2 cell towers and need this to work at my home.  I have to disconnect from wifi to download images I can SOMETIMES send them

I have this same issue. Advanced messaging is on, as is wi-fi calling. I've had this phone since May 2018 and it only started happening this past fall. It's VERY annoying.

I'm having the same issue. Has anyone found a resolution? The steps listed below do not fix my problem.

I thought it was just me. I have an iPhone XR and regardless of wifi or cellular my pictures won't send even through iMessage. This just started recently. I've been through all the measures to no avail. This needs to be fixed!

Hey - I figured out a solution for me (Note 10+ / AT&T)

Finish setting up your wifi calling - you may have started it at some point and backed out (I had to just verify my address). Once this is done, just turn wifi calling back off. After that I was able to send MMS while on wifi. Hope this helps some people.

Same thing here with our note 9's and galaxy 8 for the past year. I even have a new router, netgear nighthawk r8500, and still same. Also have spectrum internet, 400mbs.
I believe it's in the phones program either from Samsung or AT&T..

AT&T... Hello??? When are you going to resolve this? I have Advanced Messaging and Talk & Text on and I still can't send images from my S9 to the other phones on my account (an S20 and an S8) without turning WiFi off, nor can they receive it. Again, only an issue with the phones on our plan.
