So fat messages have come through from 2 people in the last week of trying to figure this out. I also CAN recieve picture messages and gifs. I tried every trouble shooting thing I could think of and also that at&t chat told me to do along with customer service for the app itsself. Please help!

We understand your concern, and we want to help figure out what's going on with your Messaging @nathan82allen.

We have a few recommendations that we'd like you to try if you haven't already:

1. Restart your device.

2. Reset the network settings.

3. Toggle airplane mode on and off.

4. Turn Wi-Fi off. Make sure mobile (cellular) data is enabled and that you can browse the web. Then try again.

5. Android devices: Go to Settings, then Advanced Messaging, and turn Advanced Messaging off and back on.

We recommend to use this resource to troubleshoot your text messages. Scroll down to where it says, "Email and messaging", then click, "Fix message issues". Click the gray Start button to begin the resolution flow.

We also suggest that you also scroll down to the "Troubleshooting" drop-down, then select Reset Device. Just look at the instructional video and follow the steps to reset the device and network.

Please use tool to find mobile messaging help. Please click the gray box that reads, "Let's Get Started" to use this next troubleshooting module.  You can also follow the below instructions:

Here are some other things to try:

  • Check your device's memory storage. If it's full, messages may not come through.
  • Make sure your device is updated to the latest software.

Please let us know this helps. If not, we can continue offering you further help. Thanks so much for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

It sounds like you need to unregister your phone number from " next SMS".
