cannot receive texts from people with an android that are on verizon

Hello. I cannot receive texts from people with an android on verizon. This has been tested with many of my contacts and they are the only group of people I don't receive texts from, sms or mms. This has been happening since I switched from a Samsung Note 20 to an iphone 13 Max Pro in July. My business partner is on the same account as I am and has the same problem with his iphone 13 max pro.

- I've reset my network settings

- restarted my phone

-checked the blocked numbers

- sms, mms, and group are "on"

- got a new sim card from the AT&T store

The people with androids on verizon Do receive my text messages. I don't get their reply in group texts or one on one texts.

We switched over to AT&T back in February of 2021 so our numbers have been ported before but the issue is a year and a half more recent than the porting date.

Still no luck and it's affecting my work, social, and day to day life. Please help!

Hello there, @mikahon! We will be happy to help you receive text messages from your contacts using Android devices. We understand how important it is to be able to communicate.

In order to provide adequate support, we just need a little more information about your experience.

  • Are your contacts receiving an error message or alert as a result? A message like "not delivered" means that the recipient (your device) somehow opted out of messages including having blocked their phone numbers.
    • Use our Device Support tool to learn how to check if numbers or messages are blocked on your phone. After selecting your device's make and model, choose Email and messaging followed by Block or Unblock Messages. If there are contacts in your phone that are blocked from receiving messages then you will want to unblock those contacts.
    • Additionally, it can help to check for an updated version of your Message app.
      1. From the the home screen, select the App Store app then select the User account icon.
      2. App updates will be listed under AVAILABLE UPDATES or UPCOMING AUTOMATIC UPDATES. Select UPDATE next to the desired app to update an individual app. Select Update All to update all apps with an available update.
        • Note: Automatic app updates is on by default. To save battery life, turn off auto updates. From the home screen, select the Settings app > App Store > App Updates switch.

Also, a faulty Message app setting can be the reason for iPhone not receiving texts from Android. Make sure that the SMS/MMS settings of your Messages app hasn't changed.

  • To check Messages app settings, go to Settings > Messages > and then make sure that SMS, MMS, iMessage, and Group messaging are turned on.

Have you attempted resetting your network settings? If not, go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings. Restart your device and see if the concern persists.

Are you able to make calls to and receive calls from Verizon customers? this will help us narrow down what can be causing this.

You can also try using our troubleshooting and diagnostic tool. Simply click 'Fix My Wireless' and log into your account to get started.

Try this and let us know how it goes. We want to make sure that you're able to receive messages from your contacts with Android devices.

Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community.

Hi Rasheedat. My contacts are not receiving an error message or alert. They are not being blocked. I am able to make receive calls to/from them. I have checked the message settings and I have reset my network settings and turned my phone off and back on. I logged in to "fix my wireless" with your diagnostic tool and it found no issues. It still is not working as I just tried it with my friend who is on a verizon android.

I am experiencing the same issue. What was the resolution I am on a Samsung galaxy S20 Fe android. And all described above seems as it should be.
