Block the 1-410-100 messages
I am getting text messages from 1-410-100 and I can't block them because the last digit of the number is different. They are from an att phone to an att phone from att. From you. How can I stop this. I forwarded them to your spam number 7726. If I have to change phone numbers I will but it won't be thru att.

I have received the same text message from 148 different numbers. The first one came from (410) 200-534. The last three digits increase by one number every time the text is sent. The last one i received was from (410) 200-608. I have also received the same message from (410) 100-032 that has also increased by one number to (410) 100-107. I have reported nearly every one of these to the SPAM (7726) number and blocked each number with no results. I called AT&T and was told to install an app called RoboKiller. It cost me $20 and did nothing. I called AT&T again and was told they didn't have any information on the numbers and to call Apple support. To say I'm frustrated, would be an understatement. Last night I was awakened 7 times by this nuisance text. There is no link in the text to follow, so I have absolutely no idea where these messages are coming from. I have had the same cell number for over 12 years and do not want to change it. Does anyone have any information on how to stop this?

I have started to receive these messages (several per day) recently, and it's incredible frustrating and a bit unnerving wondering if this "person" is getting my information somehow. It's discouraging to see that this post was created in 2017, and people are still dealing with this. It's a nuisance.
I just adjusted my settings to Filter Unknown Senders, so hopefully that will help, but there has got to be a way for spammers like this to be stopped completely.

I’m starting to wonder if this is the only way AT&T can force you to get a new phone and/or number costing us money but putting it in their pockets. First of all I never once opened any link to begin with however 11 days ago I filed a complaint with PayPal regarding what I believed was a fraudulent charge for a product, mask, I would never receive from areagoods.com. I placed it on 4/6 and after a month started communicating with the owner “Linda” claiming its being produced in China and she can’t give me specific delivery date but to track it via link she provided and WHAM it redirected me to 2 different sites and stated “unable to connect due to lose of internet” LIES. Within a few hours I was getting hundreds of texts all 1 (410) and they were coming in Hot like 10 a minute. No one and I mean NO ONE could help me. Not the rep on the phone who suggested adding these apps; Call Protect and MobileSecurity to funnel the SMS vs Junk and guess what? Nada
I drove to Apple/At& t store and was told I was next. 90 minutes later the guy looks at my phone and says “I can’t do anyhjng for you this is out of my league you need a new phone or buy insurance”. Guys my phone is 13 mos old literally 3 weeks out of its paid insurance window.
I am now getting thousands of emails, thousands of texts including 410 And bounce emails being sent to my phone but guess what? I figured it out. I know how they are doing it and I’m not going to divulge that information out of fear of being sued or whatever these big (Edited per community guidelines) companies are doing when the little man figures it out. This has never happened to me. Ive has the same # for 18 years. I have never been hacked via email, texts, credit cards, apple store purchases from the “so called hacker” so you know what I’m thinking? It’s a scam by some yahoo upstairs to get the product moving. What better way to you sales than to force you to ditch the old photo and buy a new one? A virus or a bot or a scam. You don’t have to buy a new phone just get a new SIM card and a new number. Also this is the address they are linking into your phone # to send texts via email. @mms.att.net

Looking over this forum, and tens if not hundred of other forums, a more comprehensive summary of the issue, is AT&T customers have been receiving spam text messages coming from a nine-digit number, all with the area code 410, 100 or 200 prefix, and varying 3-digit line number, with varying content for years. To report nine-digit spam text to AT&T you need to fill out this form (https://www.att.com/esupport/report-call-or-text.html). The FCC recently issued an order in 2019 allowing phone companies to block spam text messages. However, since AT&T has not addressed the issue, it is imperative you also report nine-digit spam texts to oversight agencies, specifically the Federal Trade Commission (https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1) and to the FCC https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us.

Spam texts likely are coming from email sent to <yourphonenumber>@txt.att.net
Ask ATT to look up Article 446389 to disable these:

Receiving scam calls from numbers with the same zip code and first three numbers. The last four are different. I contacted one of the numbers and they have no call history of dialing my number. I have received over twenty of these calls in the last two days. How do I stop it?

Twice a day I get spam ads from 9-digit numbers from 410 area code. Twice a day, I send the messages to 7726 AT&T spam number and nothing ever happens. Why can’t AT&T block these numbers? I manually block each one, but you’d think AT&T could block all 9-digit numbers from this area code.

So sick of this.
Time for an email blast to AT&T executives?
Anyone had success bringing legal action? Discovery would probably trace this to an internal source.
