AT&T Velocity 2 Hotspot vs Mobile Phone Hotspot

Does the Velocity 2 Hotspot offered by AT&T provide a better / stronger connection to data than the mobile phone hot spots current found in phones? I am looking for a better solution to a situation in a second home where my mobile phone hotspot is inconsistent in providing a minimal bandwidth to stream apps.

Hello @mtmcgraw226

That's a great question.

Mobile Internet Devices are dedicated data only devices which allow more connected devices, with a slightly greater range compared to a smartphone Hotspot feature.

In addition to Hotspots, we also offer AT&T Fixed Wireless Internet which delivers high-speed Internet service to eligible households via an outdoor antenna and indoor Wi-Fi Gateway router.

Please check out the link, and consider a data only device or feature for your second home, then let us know if we can provide additional support.

Hello @Guarionex we'd be happy to take a closer look into why you aren't able to connect your mobile hotspot to your HP Chromebook.

First, we'll need to learn a few additional details:

  • What's the current plan your using with your Galaxy A11? This information will determine if your on a compatible and eligible plan for hotspot usage.
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps or resetting your cellular network? You may need to reset your device and/or network to ensure a better connection.

Feel free to provide us with the necessary information so that we can continue to assist you further.

Thank you.
