AT&T Passpoint EAP authentication error

I've been an AT&T wireless customer for many years, and keep reading about free WiFi hotspots with AT&T Passpoint, but have never been able to get it to work across many phones (all Android Samsung) and years. Usually I forget about it after my trip, but today I have a lot of time to debug. For the first time, I'm actually getting an error message rather then simply disconnecting. The error message is "EAP authentication error". I don't know where to enter a username or login since there is no profile for the AT&T Passpoint service. On my phone, the Hotspot 2.0 is showing as enabled. Any clues where to go next?

Hello Hbien, we're here to help you get connected to AT&T Wifi Hotspots.

Let's try forgetting the network and reconnecting.

  1. Press Forget This Network in the att-wifi button details.
  2. Toggle off/on Wi-Fi radio.
  3. Select att-wifi.
  4. Splash page appears.
  5. Accept the Terms & Conditions by pressing the Get Connected button.
  6. Device can browse.

Let us know if this helps.
