AT&T Accessibility – Resources and Assistance for Our Customers with Disabilities
Being in touch with people that are in our lives is something a lot of us take for granted. If you or someone you know is deaf, hard of hearing, or has a speech disability, you can set up an AT&T Accessibility plan that's made for the way you communicate. Send more text messages, enjoy more video calling, and choose a plan that's right for you.

Accessibility Resources
Access your world with TTY-compatible phones, closed captioning, and much more:

- AT&T Real-Time Text - An alternative to TTY. RTT allows customers to communicate over the wireless network.
- Hearing aid-compatible phones - Learn about hear aid compatible wireless phones.
- U-verse TV Video Description - Can make television and other media accessible to blind or visually impaired subscribers.
- U-verse closed captioning - Allows our members to read what people or your favorite characters are saying.
- DIRECTV closed captioning - Allows our members to read what people or your favorite characters are saying.
- AT&T TV closed captioning - Allows our members to read what people or your favorite characters are saying.
- Relay call notice - Can be used to connect to a specially trained communications assistant from your state relay provider.

I've been with AT&T Wireless since 1999 and until now, yall have been able to figure out anything, even if it took a couple tries.
I've spent the last *3 days* trying to help a blind friend update her card on file. She gets hacked a lot. Blind people are often targeted this way.
I'm without a car and in another town. Here's the upshot.
AT&T Security and Accessibility fail: to update your card on file, you have to be able to see and read the pin number they send to your phone.
There is no workaround. At all. Ever. They *require* functioning eyeballs on your phone screen.
In the 4th hour, it turned out *my* phone number had been spoofed, so they wound up sending a temp pin to a hacker's phone.
They don't care about any other identifying info, *just* eyes on your screen. And they'll send a temporary pin to a spoofed line.
As well as blocking the blind & dyscalculic, it also means your account can be captured by anyone who gets their hands on your phone for 10 minutes.
Double Security fail. 508 Compliance fail. ADA Accommodation fail. UI design fail. Just total fail, really. Fail, fail, fail.
Going by this, AT&T doesn't want money from the blind or reading impaired -- but will gladly take it from anyone who wants to steal *any* account-holder's financial identity.
Doesn't that strike you as a bit... um, short-sighted?
