Advance messaging isn't working when sending messages.

I just purchased a galaxy s20 from Costco today. Literally 30 minutes before purchased using an galaxy 6 edge my advance messaging worked when texting my husband, I received receipt read. Got home started my new phone and now no more advance messaging..Please help

What zip code are you located in? Are you able to send regular text messages, and make/receive phone calls?
 
Another possibility is that, since you didn't purchase your phone directly from AT&T, you may need to program the device APN settings. Let's see if that works and then we can proceed from there.
