5G not working in my area

Anytime I try to do anything without wi-fi my 5G won’t work. I only saw LTE come on once. Can I turn the 5G off?

Uhhhh

5g is new.  It may not actually be turned on in your area. You didn't say what phone you have so it may not be 5G capable. You also didn't say what plan you have, not all plans are 5G enabled.

And if you are not seeing LTE, then you have a whole different problem. You may have a phone which is not capable of operating on AT&T once its 3-g Network shuts down. 3-g shuts down next month. Which means you must have an LTE compatible phone in order to continue using a t and t

I have the new iPhone 13. Apparently there’s a setting that you can turn on/off: The 5G won’t work if it’s going to use too much data. I have an unlimited plan. So I set it from Auto to on. If it still doesn’t work I can turn the 5G off completely. Thank you!

You'll be just fine. The only thing is 5G does is chewing up your battery.  I am purposely using a phone that does not get 5G in my area.

Hi, ! Let's offer some helpful tips for your coverage interference.

As our ACE mentioned, you'll want to make sure that you have a compatible 5G plan & SIM while in a 5G covered area. We see that you were able to find out how to enable/disable the setting. If you're still experiencing service interference, resetting your network settings to refresh your connection to the network.

    • iPhone: Settings>General>Reset>Reset network settings

You can visit our wireless support section and sign in to start a troubleshooting session on your device in search for the best personalized solution. Also, you can access our wireless coverage page and check the coverage supported in your area. Our outage support page will show you how to check for any service outages
